Announcing Giveaway Winner!

My apologies for the delay in announcing the winner of the Tombstone sculpture giveaway. The clean up here since Hurricane Sandy has kept me on the go.

I used Rafflecopter to randomly draw the winners name. Congratulations to Betty B. on winning the sculpture! Our Post Office is due to reopen soon due to storm damage. As soon as it does I'll be mailing Betty her sculpture.

Life here since the storm is slowly returning to normal. My wife and I powerwashed the basement walls and floors.

We also sprayed moldicide on the walls and mopped the floors with bleach.

Our totaled cars which have been sitting blocking the garage door have finally been towed away. And the city has sent the claw around to cart away debris too large for regular sanitation pick up.

While it was good to see the remnants of our destroyed possessions finally carted away we could have lived without the "claw" as I nicknamed it breaking our concrete curb and tearing up our sprinkler line!

Vampire Bat Giveaway

To celebrate Halloween I am having a giveaway of a vampire bat magnet. The bat magnet measures 2" X 2 1/2" L .It is part of a trio of scary magnets I recently made.

The drawing of the winning persons name will take place on Nov. 1, 2010. To enter you need to be a follower of my blog and leave a comment to this post.

The other magnets are of a zombie craving (what else?) brainnnnsssss! And a monster who is seriously screwed!

I'll be listing these in my Etsy shop later today.

My work space is a sight! I'm working on a mask for Halloween. Replacing the hooks on all my fishing lures to get them ready for striped bass fishing. And sculpting some new pieces.

Speaking of fish my wife and I visited the nautical mile in Freeport, NY recently to get some seafood for a cioppino recipe I wanted to make.

We always go to Capt. Ben's.

Capt. Ben's also sells this wonderful flavored Italian bread! We usually end up eating half of it on the ride home! That's me bread in hand hamming it up.

The cioppino came out pretty good! The recipe called for mussels but since I'm the only one who eats them I left them out.

It had halibut, shrimp, scallops and Little neck clams in it.

And The Winner Is!

The winner of the skull from July's giveaway is Nitebyrd. Congratulations Nitebyrd if you'll email me your address I'll get the skull mailed off to you.

I spent most of Saturday working on the miniature cavern. Early afternoon I called it quits and took my wife and mother to the beach.

Soon after we got there and we saw a pod of dolphins chasing something close to shore. This video clip a beach goer posted on Youtube shows one leaping out of the water: YouTube - Dolphins about 100 yards from the beach (Long Beach, NY) The group that passed our beach came as close as the tip of the jetty. It was pretty cool to see!
